dialogue #15 – deciding what to do today.
tia: we could go to a park.
me: cool.
tia: but there’s always a man with a large snake there – like, a boa constrictor.
me: sweet. we should meet him.
tia: yeah, we should. but he always looks kind of drunk, so i’m always worried he’ll set his snake on me.

movie night.

went to watch scott pilgrim with tia at the 02.
it was all very exciting. we had to brave the london rain and i had to pretend to be fifteen to get a child travel card for only £2; did this by using my prepubescent voice, yeyeye. and tia wore my wonderful multicolored blazer (everyone loves it because it is exquisite).
the movie turned out to be absolutely amazing; the visual effects were stunning and the humour was pretty brilliant. i mean, i felt bad for knives and all, but whatever, i’m sure she’ll be fine.
funny story about the trip back:
we were on the bus, and then it stopped for no apparent reason. after a while, we realized that some guy was arguing with the bus driver; apparently, the guy showed the driver the wrong travel card, but “wasn’t trying to cheat him.” he had a £20 note, but the driver had no change and they were arguing for about ten minutes while we spied on them and giggled.
finally, a kindly woman who we now refer to as ‘the good samaritan’ lent the guy £2 and we were able to go on, go home and watch ultimate big brother.
tia and i both agreed that the driver was in the wrong.
also, he was very rude.
all in all, it was a good day.
tomorrow: chill sesh.
friday: date.
saturday: meeting KV
sunday: ? – i’m either going to see maahwish in luton, or i’m asking ellie to come meet me in london.looking forward to it.

notes from manchester – 2.

there is an elf on the staircase; what could she be looking at? she’s peering over something on the wall – a poster, maybe? her hair is BLONDE blonde, and light in weight by the looks of it; wispy thin, i think, but she is gone now, and i am too tired to walk to the poster (or whatever it happened to be) – much too tired to take even a passing glance.
so i leave it be and i am somewhat satisfied with my decision.
a wave of exhaustion washes over me, and i see myself yawning the way other people do; quietly, silently, all too ashamed – i cover my mouth so people can’t see, and smile to myself afterwards.
the anceint greeks thought ill of smiling because they believed it distorted the face. it pulls the muscles in all the wrong directions and after a while, it just looks silly or strained.

in london.

in london, with tia.
i love her house; it’s so cozy.
but getting here was an utter hassle (and i loved every bit of it).
i didn’t expect to see gemma again before i left, but she dropped by with her friend kat to throw me an impromptu goodbye party; balloons, champagne, a cake, party hats, a confetti cannon – it was a proper shindig, and my heart was full to bursting. we broke some rules and i broke a glass, but it was amazing and sweet and wonderful.
then it was time for teary goodbyes and we got in gemma’s car to drive off to the megabus stop at MAYO AVE, BRADFORD. unfortunately, we kept getting lost and going in circles and soon i felt faintfainfaint. ashlee and gemma kept yelling at each other (“YOU TURNED TOO EARLY,” “GIVE ME THE RIGHT DIRECTIONS, GODDAMIT”).
i was running out of time and we weren’t moving fast enough so ashlee and i hopped into a cab with gemma and kat following behind; it was probably the most exciting car chase of my life (and gemma’s, apparently).
the megabus was about to leave by the time we pulled over, and gemma and ashlee whipped my luggage out of her trunk as i rushed to pay my cab driver. i was so close to missing my bus, but we were all laughing by the time we had to say our final goodbye. and gemma passed me a huge surprise card during our last embrace.
i’m going to miss living at ashlee’s house; we would definitely make brilliant roommates.
and now i’m at tia’s house in london.
we watched the finale of big brother last night and had very iggyinappropriate discussions, and now we’re going out to watch scott pilgrim at the O2.
so excited.

THANKS FOR EVERYTHING, ASHLEE AND GEMMA!
I LOVE YOU!

they threw me an impromptu goodbye party.
I LOVED IT (AND I LOVE THEM).

last night.

post 360.
this is my last night in bradford and ash and i are sitting here watching ju-on, which isn’t as scary as we’d hoped it would be.
gemma came over today and we spent much of our time drinking and eating at times way too early in the morning to be socially acceptable.
and i played the guitar and gemma teared up with every chord i strummed.
i’m going to miss living on our own; the late-night horror films, the severely unhealthy food.
i think ash and i would make good roommates, except for the fact that we scare each other shitless and would probably spend all our time together in a state of mild-to-extreme fear.
i’ll miss ash, and gemma, and bradford. i was packing my bags today and thought about how surreal it all is. just last week, i had no idea who ashlee was, and now it feels like i’ve known him for ages.
goodbye bradford (and gemma, and ash); i’ll miss you.
next stop: london.

listen to this.
“it sounds like the soundtrack to a monet painting or dolphins making love or something cool like that.”
