i’ve decided that today is my official catchup day in all aspects of my life, and this being the case, i thought it fit to post an update.
life’s actually been pretty good as of late, except for my french teacher who really really really likes to go by the book. she’s a really sweet lady and all, but i missed my conversation class and she brought me outside the classroom and told me about how i was probably going to get a zero to be fair to the other students. SHE DON’T TAKE NO SHIT. it wouldn’t have been nearly as bad if she wasn’t smiling the entire time she spoke to me. i could totally tell she was ready to tear me apart. also, i know she already has this preconceived notion of me based on what she’s heard last year (she was all ‘i haven’t heard many good things from last year’ and ‘you’ve had five years to get your act together’) and i think i’m going to have a little bit of trouble proving it wrong.
BUT I WILL, EVENTUALLY.
i met this guy called adrien at my interview from abercrombie and he may or may not have been hired (we will never know, because monica, our hiring manager, had this annoying knack of not calling people when she hired them). in any case, i bumped into him in the mac store a couple of days ago and we chilled for a bit.
he’s one of those people who you feel like you’ve known for ages when you’ve really only known them for a couple of days.
i dragged him to the bank to deposit my paycheque into my account and he kept complaining about how i was making him stand in line, but how it was worth it if he could spend time with me, which i found all too endearing. and then he mentioned how he would sometimes check the store to see if i was working, but i was never there.
being reunited at the mac store struck me as a work of fate, and i took it as a good omen.
we eventually met up with elaha and she approves of adrien too, which is good. and then he left and elaha and i went to espresso for the chills and i played guitar and strengthened my relationship with the owners and the waiters. the surges of creative energy prevented me from going home, so elaha and i ended up going to starbucks and elaha attempted to be a lady and i was a minstrel and life was good.
nuit blanche was the very next day.
