above: in nellie’s car, en route to toronto – homeward bound.
the last few days have been an exhausting – yet exhilarating! – mishmash of cleaning and packing and moving and drinking and smoking and going out and sleeping and waking up barely remembering anything at all.
let me just say that cleaning my entire room was a terrible ordeal and a tremendous accomplishment. getting down on my hands and knees to scrub dry urine (and not even all my own, at that) off my bathroom floor was not something that appealed to me at five in the morning. there were many other things i would’ve rather been doing, i.e. sleeping or watching an episode of ‘the real housewives of vancouver’ – because we all know that gold-digging is a skill best learned by way of example.
moving all of our stuff to nellie’s brother’s apartment (where we’d be staying for our last couple of nights in montreal) was also quite the hassle. it involved lifting and trolleys and waiting and all sorts of other annoying things. but we miraculously managed to fit all of our stuff into her car, which i thought was pretty impressive considering how much stuff we had.
i got high for the first time in a really long time on monday night. everything became kind of hazy. instead of making it to st. sulpice, i bumped into a group of kind-of-friends at korova and followed them back to res for one last night in the hotel-turned-college-dorm.
at one point i went to say bye to a couple of friends who were leaving the next day and i ended up sleeping in their bed. i’m sure they weren’t very happy with that, but can i really be blamed? when someone is that high and is faced with a wonderfully comfortable bed, there’s really only one thing he can do, and that’s sleep in it.
the next night i went to bdp for the last bdp tuesday of the school year. there was a pre at hansen’s for his birthday and that was fun. the bar itself is kind of a blur. judging by the photos, i remember a lot less than i thought i did, but i’m pretty sure i had a good time, so it all works out. it was nice to see everyone together for one last night out.
and today we made our way home.
we got lost pretty quickly and ended up at a body of water:

it turned out okay though. smooth sailing once we hit the freeway.
i wasn’t allowed to fall asleep because then nellie would’ve fallen asleep and we would’ve ended up as a couple of shut-eyed corpses in a flaming mess of metal, bone and blood. so we kept ourselves awake by playing ‘ask me anything,’ ‘would you rather’ and ‘kill fuck marry.’
the rest of the time was well spent listening to good music.
when i got home, my mom told me i’d gained weight – especially in the face. i said i’m comfortable with myself and that i have all summer to get into shape (which i plan on doing!!!).
elaha and yodit arrived shortly after i’d settled in and gave me some wonderful magic fungi.
the drugs started to kick in after the ladies left. i surrounded myself with some toys to keep me entertained. the slinky was soon engulfed in flame and i thought my hand was a zombie for a little bit. also, my my right hand and i got into an argument, but we patched things up after a while.
i had so much trouble playing it cool with my mom. every time she walked in i would smile like a twat and laugh at myself. later in the night i told her i was on shrooms and she seemed relieve that it wasn’t the alternative she’d imagined – namely that i’d been sexting someone or having cybersex, goodness gracious. who does she think i am?
she asked me why i’m experimenting with these drugs in the first place and i said something about shamans and spirit quests in reply. i think it went something like this:
“don’t worry mom, the shamans did it to go on spirit quests all the time.
"they just said that to justify themselves.”
“THEY’RE SHAMANS MOM.”
and then we laughed and she said something about how i actually have a great body structure and all i have to do is tone.
yay.
i just stopped myself from eating all of the cheese in the house, so i think that’s a step in the right direction.
here’s to being home.
i can already see some bright and new things shining on the horizon.
also, here’s what i look like cleaning the bathroom floor:

summer be good to me.
