i went to kinton last night with these cuties after work.
it was super cute, but we made such a hassle for the servers. people showed up late so we had to save seats and apparently splitting our bill six ways was incredibly complicated.
but like, if you want our money, you should really make it easier for us to give it to you.
hopefully they don’t hate me forever, because i love eating there.
maybe i’ll have to start eating at kinton 2.
i went to futures with elaha, yodit and sadiq after, and we had lyfchatz over a couple of delicious chai lattes (futures might actually make the best chai lattes in the city).
it was super cute and then we took dark, winding routes home (elaha’s suggestion) and feared for our lives.

elaha needed to go to a police station/museum to get a police background check or something for her job and i agreed to go with her (so we could gossip ehehe) so she came over to pick me up.
i asked her if i should dress punk rock for absolutely no reason, and she probably said something along the lines of “please don’t” so i put on my ratty denim shorts, a black shirt, my bullet belt, a wrist cuff and my fighting ring to complete look.
introducing trashcore obed (i’m not actually sure if trashcore is a real thing or if i just made it up)!
turns out it was really sunny outside, so wearing all black probably wasn’t the wisest decision.
i had to tie my shirt at the waist on the way home.
so embarrassing for elaha.

my family had a bbq on patio(?) today (yesterday, technically) to celebrate queen victoria’s bday.
we posin’ like we tight with queen v, but really we just like food.
and then we went inside and my sister put on a documentary about babies.
babies are so cute!!

throwback to me being fierce on my dad’s 51st bday.
shout out to ophir, who is working a strong facial expression.

apparently bre only just found out that i used to have really really long hair.
flashback to me in my childhood – a source of confusion for many.

hung out with bre, elaha and sadiq today.
i met up with both of them at aber so i could give my managers my SIN and then we all went to the starbucks in the chapters at richmond/john.
apparently the chapters, which played such a crucial role in my late high school years, is closing down soon, so they’re having a really big sale (everything 50% off).
i wanted to weep. i bet they’re going to make it a condo.
elaha and i were going to go see my youngest brother’s school concert, but it started raining so we ran home instead.
elaha somehow lost her phone on our way home so we changed into uglier, less important clothes and went back out into the rain to look for it. we were soaking wet and chilly, but somehow it was still a twisted kind of fun.
there’s something oddly liberating about strolling around in public dressed in hideous clothing while seeing everyone else assert their chic senses of style.
when it stopped raining, we went out to look for it again, to no avail.
sadiq came over and hung out for a bit and then they both went home.
come home to us, elaha’s phone.
she misses you dearly.

chris took me to maestro svp on our last full day together.
we ordered a round of caesars and started with the tuna tartare before moving on to three round oysters (and another round of caesars).
everything was delicious and the afternoon was perfect.
we got a table right by the windows, which they opened for the first time that season.
the woman i assumed to be the manager said we were making history as the first customers experiencing the open windows – the waiter said he’d never seen them open before.
it was relaxing and euphoric and i liked getting to spend such a perfect afternoon with chris.
it was really, really nice.

i went to a party on saturday and the night ended in a lonely walk and tear stained pillows, but i came out stronger for it.

we went to the biodome last sunday and it was super fun even though i was in kind of an irritable mood.
going to the biodome had been on my to do list for basically ever so it was nice to finally get the chance to go. the weather was beautiful and we saw a lot of animals and it was super cute.
chris and i were very taken with the penguins. our favourite penguin was the one we found hiding behind a rock some distance from its brethren.
we took a selfie with it.

chris and i went and saw kaskade at stereo on friday night and it was so so so so good.
he was finally finished with finals and we both love kaskade, so i’d been looking forward to it for a week and i was not disappointed.
we danced for a whole lot, stared at the crazy lights, sat on the speakers, saw some friends – stuck together the whole night and it was amazing.
a friend i bumped into in the bathroom told me i have a great aura (which i always appreciate) and a bunch of people came up to me throughout the night to tell me that chris and i made the cutest couple, and that we looked great dancing together.
one of these people – a girl named tiffany – even gave me one of her colourful bead bracelets (kandi, in the rave scene) and chris had fun dancing with her, which was fun to watch.
we left at about 8:30 am and had coffee in a square near chris’s house before heading home and to sleep.
throughout the night, chris and i kept telling each other how glad we were to be together, and it was super cute.
it was a great way to mark the beginning of summer.

i spent most of the weekend with the realboo.
friday night was TJR at telus, and saturday was our date night, which i’d been planning for a while. it was supposed to be last weekend, but chris’s dad came up so we rescheduled.
we went to old port to partake in scena’s special ‘chef a l’erable,’ which was a kind of urban sugar shack dining experience.
we were served so many courses and they were all incredibly rich and delicious. they also did a good job decorating the place and creating a really intimate atmosphere.
the drinks were also amazing: chris had a caesar, i had a maple mojito, and we both had wine with dinner.
however, we were sitting next to a bunch of other people and there was this one woman who was basically an outlier of her larger group and was supposed to share food with us, and it was always just a little bit awkward going in and dividing the portions.
i always went to get my food first, chris always went second and she always got what was left over, and when it comes to food, i’m incredibly selfish, so i really had to restrain myself.
but it was all part of the fun!
it was incredibly cute, and incredibly filling, and by the time we left, i felt like i was going to explode.
i went to joffjoff’s place afterward to celebrate his birthday. we ended up going to bluedog and dancing, which was fun.
chris made me spaghetti for dinner on sunday and then we went to juliette et chocolat for dessert.
we split a fondu and he had an order of profiteroles while i had a fleur de sel caramel petit pot, which was amazing. as always, we ended up feeling like we were going to be sick by the time we left, but it was worth it!
it’s funny because we go there so often, yet never learn.
and then we went back to his place and went for a nightswim in his pool. there were two girls studying there and they were so friendly.
today we woke up and had breakfast at universel before going to target. he bought me a couple of moleskin notebooks (at my relentless beckoning, but still, it was cute), and now i feel reinspired to write again, which is nice.
it was a good weekend.
