dirty little whirlwind, i'm pinned to the heart of your swirl.

DISCLAIMER: this is a personal blog (i just want to write about my life 😭) and does not necessarily reflect the views, opinions or perspectives of my employer or church.

grace.

the topic of hospitality came up at church camp and it got me thinking about that time i got home from work, and my friend was already there and i was exhausted and all i wanted to do was be by myself, read for a bit and sleep, so i got really frustrated because it took her a while to leave.

but that’s not the kind of person i want to be.

i want to be welcoming and warm in all circumstances, especially to my friends.

i want them to know that they can count on me to be there and to not send them away.

it’s just that sometimes i need my alone time too – sometimes, it would be nice for them to understand when i would rather not have them around (which does not in any way mean i don’t love them) and to act accordingly.

i guess grace is something to be learned on all sides.

i know i’ve still got a long way to go.

for now, i’m going to try to be gentler, because i know how volatile and tempestuous i can be.

i think we should all strive to love and be kind and to keep from hurting ourselves and others as much as possible.
