this fantastic mess.

dirty little whirlwind, i'm pinned to the heart of your swirl.

sadiq, who graces the cover of the first ever issue of gostyle man magazine, brought me and elaha to the gotstyle turns 10 party on saturday night, and it was a lot of glamorous, well-dressed fun (thanks sadiq!).

everyone was very stylish and beautiful (fashion party wut wut), and there was an open bar, which was both a blessing and a curse – the greatest temptation, and i’m always so bad at resisting my vices.

there was also an oyster bar, at which i made myself a near permanent fixture. i met a lot of people while slurping down oyster after oyster, and a couple of people noticed my hovering and joked about it. the oysters so yummy though, i couldn’t help myself. i wanted to eat them all. actually, there was a lot of yummy food there, including chocolate strawberries that were really too big to eat without making a mess of your face – or maybe i just don’t know how to eat properly, because i seemed to be the only one struggling with chocolate smears. it was worth it.

i unexpectedly bumped into a couple of friends who play in busty and the bass – they were part of the entertainment for the evening, and i was grateful to have found them because prior to that i was kind of just aimlessly wandering around and taking in all of the razzle dazzle since i didn’t really know anyone and sadiq was getting ready for the fashion show.

i watched sadiq walk a celebrity runway, and then the afterparty started.

i got progressively drunker throughout the night (lots of wine, some hard liquor, some beer, some scotch), which made everything very floaty, and i ended up meeting a lot of people, making some new friends and connections and even networking a little bit. everyone was really nice. there were some big names there that i half-recognized and it only added to the glitz and the glamour.

elaha was really late because of work, but she showed up at one point and we probably embarrassed ourselves somehow because by then all of my inhibitions were basically gone. it was no longer classy obed at a glamorous event – just drunk me having a time, which is always fun.

sadiq and elaha and i somehow ended up at frans, but i was too incapacitated to eat my food, so i left both of them and walked home.

i somehow lost sadiq’s blazer (which i’d borrowed) on the way, and it made me very sad when i woke up the next day.

but all in all it was a beautiful night, and i think we all had a pretty good time. hurray for friendship and fun, and congrats on the cover, sadiq!
