the day after i arrived in toronto was the day of mirabelle’s beauty pageant, which elaha and i have been looking forward to for so long.
we went to kinton (our new favourite ramen joint) with bre and gabby beforehand, and that turned out to be my farewell meal with the two of them.
the pageant was as i expected all beauty pageants to be – full of spectacle and dazzling smiles, girls strutting in meticulous choreography, ready to tell the audience how they’re ready to change the world.
it was all very pageanty and i loved it.
mirabelle was stunning, as always.
she made it into the top ten, but we all know she deserved the final crown.
after the pageant, elaha and i went to frans to grab a bite to eat with sadiq, because there was no way i was leaving the city without saying bye to that beautiful man.
i already miss my toronto friends.
i am lucky enough to have found a really wonderful, kind, ever encouraging and endlessly supportive group of souls in them.
i never doubt them, and it’s nice to have a group of friends you know you can always count on.
see you soon, toronto.
you still have my heart.
