“this is the beautiful boy in blue, loved by men and women alike. he works in retail and wears a blue plaid shirt whenever he goes to work. people come into the store just to see him, to steal passing glances and maybe even spark a conversation. they come to the store to bask in his beauty. sometimes he asks them how they’re doing, but that’s just his job. really, he couldn’t care less. he barely even notices them. coveted by all, he wants no one; he is just there, existing, doing his job. blessed and cursed – what a waste, what a waste.”

elaha and teddy were fighting.
shit went down.

“this is a man who rides the subway every day. he is not going anywhere in particular – he is not going anywhere at all. but he rides the subway because he wants to find someone to love him. he believes in chance encounters and beautiful tales.
"one day,” he thinks, “someone will sit beside me, and i will stare into her eyes, and we will fall in love.”
this is a man who rides on the subway, and one day, he’s going to find someone to love.“

“this girl has no sight. the world around her is perceived through the other senses. she has fallen in love with the sound of her own voice, so much so that she talks just for the sake of it, and she goes on and on and on.
someone once recorded her on camera. they played it back to her years later and she couldn’t recognize the sound of her own voice.
these were her exact words:
"that girl sounds really annoying. someone should just put her out of her misery and shoot her in the head.”
and then she went on and on about how annoying ‘the girl’ sounded just so she could hear herself talk.“

lazy friday.

above: teddy sticking his head over a giant fan because…well, just because.
yesterday was a lazy friday. none of us actually ended up going to the university fair and we spent most of our time lounging around at nicky’s house.
i dragged elaha over to nicky’s for the first time yesterday, and i think she faired pretty well. thadea, nicky and teddy went back to their school to find a few other people (we would eventually learn that they failed) so elaha and i were left alone for a bit. it was hot and humid outside (autumn? what?) and so we saw no choice but to strip down and jump around on the trampoline in our underwear. when the other three got back, we gathered all our clothes and darted into the house in an attempt to get dressed before they saw us, but it was all in vain. now they just think we’re slutty (as per).
we chilled at nicky’s for a few hours, teddy serenaded us and thadea did her homework for her crazy online course – and then we parted ways, after hot chocolate and night-plan confusion.
went to liz’s at around 11 pm and teddy texted me saying he was hungry, so we met up (he needs to learn how to listen to directions) and he took me to kom jug for post-dinner dinner. i was already pretty full from having eaten before going to liz’s, so i only ate half of my dish, but i saved the rest for mary as we were planning on paying her a visit anyways.
after kom jug, we aimlessly wandered the night for a while, ignoring the ‘no trespassing’ signs here and there and wading in a fountain that you’re not supposed to wade in. my pants got wet, and i got cold, and then we picked mary up at dragon city and headed to her residence’s courtyard to RELAX. dragon city to woodsworth = LONGEST WALK OF MY LIFE. i was so tired.
i found this giant tree branch that i dubbed the best soul calibur weapon, like, ever, and it also made a pretty good pet.
teddy left after a while, mary and i chatted some more, and then my mom called me up demanding i return home.
it actually wasn’t that lazy of a friday. we ended up walking a whole lot.
and teddy needs to work on his goodbye hugs.

“these are two lovers who can touch and touch and touch but they cannot speak to each other or look each other in the eye. why? because they know the truth of their love, their beauty; it’s empty and hollow, and not real. maybe they do love each other, but they’ll never know because they’re too scared of what they might find out. they live together, and alone, separated by the shame of things that haven’t happened yet. they are not of afraid of each other; they are afraid of themselves.”

from the sketchbook – 2.
“a wilting flower next to the bed of a dying woman. this is the woman who has cared for it for years, and now it is lonely and sad. the woman was beautiful too, once, and the flower was inspired – to be, to bloom, to take pride in its beauty. but all things fall, and all things die, and the woman, instead of growing old and ugly, wishes for death’s fast approach – to die young and beautiful, even if it means leaving the flower behind.”

tentative relief.

it’s that time of year again and i think i’m finally starting to get into the swing of things; university application season’s rolling around full force, and if i was nervous before, i’m not anymore.
we had a grad meeting at our school for university stuff and they gave out this book of ontario universities and their requirements for enrolment. i didn’t really get a good look at it until i got home, but when i did, i swear a huge sigh of relief just gusted out of me.
like, all tension left my body and i kind of just flopped over and RELAXED. i was so worried because my performance last year was sub-par, to put it kindly.
but about 90% of the required averages were below 85% and the vast majority of those ranged from 70%-80%, and with the translation of IB marks to OSSD marks, getting that should be a synch.
i kind of feel like having a party now.
all i have to do is get my extra-curriculars down pat and i’m good to go.
all this university-centered thought has gotten me really excited. i was walking home from mary’s tonight and bolts of electricity just kept shooting up my spine. i kept picturing myself in a different city, meeting all these new different people; scenarios just kept playing on loop in my head: me at a party, me at a my first class, etc. etc.
by this time next year, i’ll have made it, and i really can’t wait.
